Can Heart win outside of Melbourne?

Melbourne Heart is back in winning form, over the last 3 rounds it has not lost a match. Tomorrow’s match is in NSW even though it is a home match. A couple of questions Melbourne Heart will be able to answer: Can we keep up this winning form? Can Heart break the bad winless streak away from home? Let’s have a quick look at last week’s match against Sydney, Perth’s form and tomorrow’s match.

Last week’s match against Sydney FC:
This was one of those matches that will go down as one of the best in the club’s short history. We could have won this match easily by 2 or 3 goals, if it wasn’t for the poor refereeing. Who would have thought we were a man down? Apart from Redmayne making that error which cost us a goal, all the players stepped it up a notch and really put the pressure on Sydney. At the end of the match you would have thought that Sydney were a player down and not Heart. The goal from Williams was just amazing, his run from half way, being able to compose himself to control the ball and shoot it past two Sydney defenders and Janjetovic Sydney’s goalkeeper – it was pure class.

Perth Glory’s form:
Interesting to know Perth’s last win was a home match back in round 14 and guess who it was against? Yes, Melbourne Heart. Since our last encounter with Glory they have not won a match and the away match they played was against WSW where they lost 3 goals to 1. Last week they played the struggling Victory side at home, this should have been a win but all Perth could muster up was a 1 all draw. Saying all this, we are playing a side which we should not take lightly.

Overall Stats against Perth Glory(Win/Draw/Loss): 3/3/6

Preview of the Melbourne Heart VS Perth Glory:
Our record against Perth isn’t the greatest, but we are in winning form. It’s great having a full selection of players to choose from and it looks like every player wants to be in that starting line up, which puts us in a great position to be in. Also great to see Germano back and playing like he hasn’t missed a beat.

My starting line up predicition for Heart: Redmayne, Wielaert, Kisnorbo, Behich, Hoffman, Kewell, Germano, Kalmar, Williams, Dugandzic and Ramsay

I am a little unsure on some of the players in the starting line up, like maybe instead of Kisnorbo it could be Gerhardt. Will JVS put Mifsud on and not Kalmar? Maybe even have a younger player like Garuccio or Mauk up the front? Having Engelaar with the one match ban does make filling this empty spot interesting. Looking forward to seeing the actual line up tomorrow before the match.

Even though this ‘home match’ is in Albury, maybe this is our way of breaking our winless streak outside of Melbourne. I really believe that we can and will be tough to beat tomorrow. I am going with our winning form and Glory will be surprised to see a different team to the one they won against in round 14. Heart to win and finally break this winless away drought (yes I know it’s a home match, but it’s in NSW!).

Go Heart!
