Murdocca to Heart

Melbourne Heart have signed the 28-year-old central midfielder Massimo Murdocca on a two-year contract leaving Brisbane Roar to join Heart ahead of the 2013-14 season. Massimo was a key figure in Brisbane’s double championship-winning team, playing in almost every game over the two season period.

Although he is not known for goals, having scored just three since joining Brisbane Roar in the inaugural A-League season of 2005-06, he has a huge tank, enabling him to run and run. He has also proven himself to be a very creative player. He has been labelled as “the little man with a massive heart”[1], standing only 5ft 5in tall, and takes great pride in his fitness and running capability.

Murdocca’s addition to Heart’s squad will go a long way to shoring up our midfield after the departures of both Fred and Matt Thompson, Thompson leaving Massimo’s number eight vacant. Murdocca will no doubt bring a creative spark and reliability to the squad as we rebuild for our fourth season in the Hyundai A-League.

Welcome to Heart Massimo Murdocca!
