Red and White unite with the Big Heart

The times they are a changin, sang Bob Dylan, and that rings true for our beloved club Melbourne Heart. Coinciding with the momentous change of ownership, the MHFC Supporters group and The Big Heart blog have decided to unite under the official supporters banner, Red & White Unite. This is aimed at growing a more active online social supporters group that hopefully also builds our club’s membership.

Ash and Max started ‘The Big Heart – unofficial Melbourne Heart blog’ a few years ago to help promote our small club in a big city. We were not sure how long the blog would last, yet we could tell in the early stages that it was quickly being picked up by regular Heart fans, not just our friends and family. The excitement has grown in our second year, especially when discovering people like Scott Munn and Bootsa are regular readers of our posts, what a boost to our egos! It’s just as rewarding to collect more and more followers via Twitter.

With this growing following across the wider football community, we sensed it was time to take the blog to the next level and then came the news of our new Mancunian owners. The Red & White Unite site has been in need of some regular blogging, so the match up seems perfect at a pivotal time for the club and its supporters.

We want to keep the #HeartFamily feel alive and strong, and look forward to more people joining us on the amazing ride that is Melbourne Heart FC. Stay tuned for an invitation to contribute your ramblings to the blogosphere and much more! Keep up with blogs, news and other commentary by following us @mhfcsupporters and @MelbBigHeart

“Manchurian” owners? Methinks you are a little off-target geographically. “Mancunian” is the word you were looking for.

Thank you for spotting the error. I just updated with correct word.
